When Things Don’t Make Sense

As I read this morning’s Scriptures I am struck with the realization that God does things that we simply do not understand. Things that just don’t make sense…to us. The ‘to us’ part is the key, because what God does always makes sense to Him.

Exodus 7:4
But Pharaoh will not heed you, so that I may lay My hand on Egypt and bring My armies and My people, the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.

We must never forget that God is always…always working things to accomplish His will and purpose. We must guard our hearts from slipping into thinking that God isn’t aware of what is going on, lest we slip into complete discouragement and begin to drift from the Lord.

Exodus 7:5
And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch out My hand on Egypt and bring out the children of Israel from among them.”

God’s greatest desire and plan for every person’s life, is that they would know Him. This is the sole reason we were born. When we understand this truth about God, so many other things that don’t make sense, begin to fall into place.
